Once you determine the material you want the sink to be made out of, it’s time to determine exactly how you want the sink to be positioned in the bathroom. Space and design are important in this factor, as the size of the bathroom could mean you want more space for other things and less for the sink area. Counter to that, you could have a huge bathroom and want two sink areas. There are many different ways you can position the sink depending on the way your bathroom looks.
Be very clear with yourself about your needs. Do you need two sinks with potentially less counter space, or will one sink and lots of surface space work best for you? What about under-cabinet storage? If you don’t have a linen closet handy, your vanity may need to store both towels and extra shampoo. Towels take up lots of space while shampoo and other assorted toiletries may work best in drawers.
Modern bathroom sinks obviously match up nicely with contemporary surroundings. However, practicality should also be at the forefront of your thoughts when choosing your bathroom sink, especially considering that it is sure to be one of the most frequently used fixtures in your entire home. That doesn’t mean you need to compromise on looks–most modern bathroom sinks are designed using up-to-date technologies which ensure a durable, lightweight profile as well as appealing aesthetics.
Undermount bathroom sinks are very popular, and they come in a wide range of styles and materials. Ceramic undermount bathroom sinks remain a versatile favorite, but other materials have benefits.
